What is Unlock Literature?

What is Unlock Literature? Unlock Literature was inspired in conversation with Peggy Hughes as the overarching ethos of the Human Translation Project. Unlocking literature can mean revealing foreign talents to people in the English-speaking world – a talent scout, indeed. And, much like a footballer may need to be unlocked by a new manager or tactical system, people may find that their appreciation for particular literature or some other creative endeavour, or their own creativity, can be unlocked where they never suspected it existed. I know many people have helped that be the case for me, and I extend my gratitude to, for example, Elena Traina and Isabella Straub, and I hope that this website and the connected projects can contribute to doing the same for others.
