Sabeth Yu – German writer
Sabeth Yu was born and raised in Bavaria, the daughter of a Chinese father and a Bohemian mother – her mother came from a peasant family who fled what is now the Czech Republic at the end of the Second World War. Her father too was forced to flee his home: following the civil war and the seizure of power by the communists, he escaped with his father and his brothers to Taiwan. Her parents met while studying in Munich, where in the ‘90s the author studied Chinese, German, and later Publishing. As a young woman, she experienced the crushing of the democracy movement in Beijing. The author lives and works in Munich. From there, she reveals the shimmering fantasy of the world of Master Ka.
